Details
Cinema — An Inhabited Volcano – Time of Memory Cycle at Teatro Guiniguada, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Cinema is a territory where time folds, a place where shadows and light awaken memories we believed were asleep. In the new edition of “Tiempo de memoria, memoria en el tiempo” (Time of Memory, Memory in Time), now beginning its fourth journey, we delve into that space where images become guardians of the past and seeds of the future, reminding us that Cultural Heritage is not a distant echo, but a presence that continues to beat. Tickets at this link Each film and each documentary chosen for this cycle acts as an open door: it invites us to cross over into stories that sustain us, to reconnect with voices, gestures, landscapes and events that have woven the fabric of who we are. In every screening, memory takes on body, identity is illuminated, and time, that tireless traveler, shows us that what has been lived never completely disappears, but remains, transformed, accompanying us along the path we continue to build together. Synopsis: On September 19, 2021, after 50 years, a new volcano emerged on the island of La Palma. During the months the phenomenon lasted, a group of childhood friends shared voice messages in a common chat; an everyday chronicle of amazement and tragedy, far from the media narrative. AN INHABITED VOLCANO is a collective portrait of friendship and the resilience of the inhabitants of a land that, from time to time, must live alongside the hypnotic and devastating power of nature.
