Humor: Palabras Mayores
Details
Comedy — “Palabras Mayores” at the Centro Cultural Federico García Lorca, Ingenio, Gran Canaria. Alex O’Dogherty no longer measures his words. He’s lost all sense of measure, and he can just as easily talk to you about chemist’s shops, his own funeral, or jokes at inappropriate moments. Jokes at inappropriate moments, how fast we’re all going, artificial intelligence, and even shalalailos. One moment he’s doing a Rap, the next a traditional Ballad. And he’s got a special bit just for those who arrive late. Very complete. This show is very different from everything he’s done before, because his head is going a mile a minute. So don’t be surprised if, in the middle of one monologue, he suddenly launches into another, even if it’s got nothing to do with anything. Curiously, it’s an even more Idiotic show than the previous one… Even more Idiotic… He no longer measures his words, but he still plays with them. He really likes words… up until they turn into opinions. He can’t stand those. Especially the unsolicited ones. And even less so the opinion-givers. The people who have an opinion on everything. On sports, on cooking, on politics, on other people’s bodies, or… on comedy. He’s got something to say about everyone, because he’s grown up. He’s an adult now, like his words. That’s why they’re “Palabras Mayores” (literally “grown-up words”, meaning serious, weighty words). If you don’t get it, come and see it. Running time: approx. 100 minutes.
