El Mentidero: Community Cultural Gathering in Gáldar

EL MENTIDERO kicks off, a community cultural initiative that will travel across all the islands, holding a gathering on each one, open to people of all ages. People, music, tales, stories, traditional games and conversation... 📅 First date: Saturday, May 23rd in Gáldar, Gran Canaria. Plaza San José de Caideros, from 10:30 a.m. throughout the whole morning. You are invited to come and take part! 1️⃣ It will start with traditional games, for the whole family, without screens, like in the old days. 2️⃣ It will continue with the authentic “Mentidero”, recreating the old circles where elders would get together to fix the world... 3️⃣ And it will conclude with a parranda (bringing out the instruments and singing). This initiative is part of the Cultura y Raíces (Culture and Roots) programme of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the ICDC.
