Conference — “12th Meeting with Whistled Language” in La Aldea de San Nicolás, Gran Canaria. La Aldea de San Nicolás will become a meeting point for the study and dissemination of whistled language in the Canary Islands. On May 15, 16 and 17, 2026, the Yo Silbo Association will hold its 12th Meeting in the municipality, an event aimed at everyone interested in whistled language in general and that of the Canary Islands in particular. Talks, demonstrations and much more whistling. The Yo Silbo Association invites participation through the presentation of papers directly or indirectly related to whistled language: its historical spread, past, present and future, uses, experiences, features, learning, or revitalization processes, among other aspects. Presentations must last between 20 and 45 minutes. Those interested must send their proposal to the email address contacto@yosilbo.com, indicating the title, the approximate duration (with flexibility), a summary of up to 100 words, as well as full name and telephone number.
