Talk — In Search of Lost Energy in the Assembly Hall of the School of Architecture, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. On Friday, May 15, at 1:00 p.m., the assembly hall of the School of Architecture hosts the lecture by Francisco Javier Neila, professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a benchmark in bioclimatic architecture and sustainability, with a long teaching, research and postgraduate management career, a PhD architect specialized in bioclimatic architecture, sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings, as well as environmental conditioning and habitability. In this lecture, organized in collaboration with the Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria, the process of how bioclimatic architecture recovers and harnesses natural resources — such as the sun, wind or thermal inertia — to design more efficient and sustainable buildings is addressed. It explains passive strategies that reduce energy consumption, analyzes common mistakes in modern construction that “waste” energy, and proposes solutions based on the climate and the environment to achieve comfort without relying so heavily on artificial systems. The energy of tomorrow begins with your specialization. Master lecture given by Prof. Neila González. May 15, 1:00 p.m. Assembly Hall of the School of Architecture. Tafira University Campus. ULPGC. Free admission.
