Guided Tour – "Another Gaze: In Memoriam"
Details
Guided Tour — “Another Look: In Memoriam” at Centro de Arte La Regenta, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. There is in the brush of Juan Pedro Ayala an infinite tension, a need to delve into the deep suffering of the soul, says Daniel Montesdeoca, PhD in Art History, with whom we will walk through the exhibition next Wednesday, April 22, at 7:00 p.m., at Centro de Arte La Regenta. It is Another Look, a guided visit with commentary for an adult audience, from the perspective of Daniel Montesdeoca. Every broken tree, every twisted branch, every shrill note reflects the doubts and sorrows that accompany us. As if he wished to evoke the lyrics of Árbol del Olvido, the masterful score by Ginastera: In my homeland there is a tree that’s called the tree of oblivion, where those whose souls are dying go, vidalitay, to console themselves, Montesdeoca explains in greater depth. On this singular tour we may speak of love, of the torment of existence, of orientalism bound up in mystical references, of the sea and of the apocalyptic, of not‑so‑hidden paraphilias, and perhaps of the origin of the world. We look forward to seeing you. Free activity with reservation required. Prior registration one week in advance at laregenta.org.
