Sonora, the longest-running and most widely participated active band contest in the Canary Islands, celebrates the grand final of its 2026 edition with a weekend of concerts in the Jerónimo Saavedra Hall at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. An opportunity to enjoy live the music being created in the archipelago. On Friday 17 April, five bands will take to the stage to present their musical proposals live before the audience and the jury. On Saturday 18, the other five finalists will perform, before the jury’s decision and the awards ceremony. Two nights to enjoy live the music being made in the Canary Islands. Over the years, this festival-competition, first known as La Caja Sonora, then as Capital Sonora and now as Sonora, has been a springboard for numerous Canarian artists and bands seeking to make a name for themselves on the music scene, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talent before audiences and industry professionals.
