Our theme for March is LOCAL. It was chosen by the CreativeMornings Santos chapter in Brazil and illustrated by Simone Matias. “Local” (pronounced lo-cal in Portuguese) means being a resident or native of a specific place. From Santos they share something very simple and very profound: “We are proud to be from Santos. It’s that feeling of loving the city, even when we sometimes have to leave. The advantages of belonging to a place.” And that word — belong — changes everything. What does it mean to be local? Being local is not just being born in a place. It is recognizing how that place has shaped you. How its streets, its climate, its rhythm, its people have influenced the way you think, create, and relate to others. Sometimes we leave. Sometimes we need distance. But something remains: the bond. The place we come from leaves an invisible mark. Identity and territory How does the place you come from define you? Maybe in the way you speak. In the way you work. In your sense of humor. In the way you look at the sea or the mountains. Spaces build identity. Neighborhoods build memory. Cities build culture. And culture is sustained by people. Community beyond the screen We live digitally connected, but real community is built face to face. In cafés. In cultural spaces. In shared gatherings. It is built when we decide to stay a little longer. When we greet each other by name. When we support nearby talent. Community is built in neighborhoods, not only on screens. CreativeMornings Las Palmas In Las Palmas, this theme invites us to look around. To ask ourselves: How do we strengthen our ties with the people close to us? How do we celebrate local talent? How do we take care of the spaces that allow us to come together? Being local is also choosing to get involved. And that is exactly what we want to keep cultivating with every edition. A space where people meet. Where ideas flow. Where the city feels a little closer. See you in March. Because creativity also has a territory. And ours begins here.
