Details
Summary text of the activity Context: This workshop is held to commemorate the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste established by the United Nations on 29 September and is part of the “12 Months, 12 Actions” programme, promoted by the Volunteering Committee of the ULPGC. Main objectives: A) Raise public awareness about food loss and waste, advocating for the need for a profound change in our eating habits and associated culinary-gastronomic practices in order to avoid them, proposing three recipes as an example. B) Generate a cultural debate within the university community and in society at large, within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Contents and tools: 1. Contextualisation of the topic. 2. On-site preparation of three basic recipes using local products, explaining the ingredients made from leftovers used, led by an experienced chef (Samuel López Peña). 3. Debate. Organised by: Vice-Rectorate for Culture, Sport and Society through its Cultural Classroom Science & Gastronomy / HUB GastroFood ULPGC. In collaboration with FUNDACIÓN DISA.
