Chichon dirige por vez primera en temporada la Sinfonía nº 5 de de Mahler, gigantesco fresco donde late con fuerza el pulso de la vida y sus múltiples expresiones: desde el fatalismo y el aire trágico de la Marcha Fúnebre, pasando por la extroversión y el aire danzable del Scherzo, hasta el vibrante Rondo final. Y entre estos el Adagietto, pasaje de lirismo trascendido, ha alcanzado extraordinaria fama gracias a su inclusión en la obra maestra de Luchino Visconti Muerte en Venecia.
