Lithic carving workshop at the Museo de La Fortaleza, Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Gran Canaria. Would you like to learn how the ancient Canarians worked stone? On April 11 at 10:30 a.m. we invite you to a hands-on experience where you will be able to discover, first-hand, how tools were made from basalts and other rocks from the area. You will learn to recognize raw materials, understand the basic principles of lithic knapping, and try out the technical gestures that were used thousands of years ago. A workshop led by specialists to bring you closer to pre-Hispanic technology in a direct and participatory way. Duration: 2 hours. Outdoor activity (weather permitting). Includes materials and protective equipment. In addition, after the activity you will be able to visit the museum’s exhibition free of charge for the rest of the day. Registration at this link
