Valleseco will celebrate its big day with the Grand Livestock Fair Next Monday, 25 May, from 8:30 a.m., this northern municipality will celebrate the most important event of the patron saint festivities in honour of San Vicente Ferrer. Valleseco will celebrate on Monday 25 May the big day of the patron saint festivities in honour of San Vicente Ferrer with the traditional Grand Livestock Fair, one of the most representative events of the primary sector on the island and one of the most eagerly awaited activities both for farming professionals and for local residents and visitors. The fair will open its doors from 8:30 a.m. at its new location, the grounds next to the Plaza de San Vicente Ferrer, a larger, more comfortable space fully integrated into the town centre, allowing livestock activities to form a central part of the festive and commercial atmosphere of the big day. More than 300 head of cattle, sheep, goats and horses will take part in this edition, which will once again turn Valleseco into a meeting point for the island’s livestock sector. From 10:00 a.m. the fair-competition will begin, where more than 8,000 euros in prizes will be awarded to the best participating animals. As the major new feature of this edition, the fair will host the launch of the 1st Valleseco Milker Cup 2026. The initiative was created with the aim of reviving the tradition of hand milking, paying tribute to the generations of women and men livestock farmers who have kept this practice alive, and encouraging generational renewal and participation in livestock fairs. The competition will begin on 25 May at the San Vicente Ferrer Fair and will subsequently visit the livestock fairs of Zumacal, Madrelagua and Lanzarote, with points being accumulated in each event until the final at the La Encarnación Livestock Fair. Among the planned activities are exhibitions and events by the Gran Canaria Drag-Dragging Club (Club de Arrastre de Gran Canaria), threshing with oxen, donkey rides, milking workshops, demonstrations of cheese-making and sheep shearing. #Valleseco #GranCanaria #feriadeganado #sectorprimario
